The StayPure capsule comprises of 2 individual parts.  The outer polypropylene plastic capsule acts as the housing to contain the patented Aqua-Nu super porous ceramic which contains trace amounts of elemental silver. Materials used are of food grade quality.

The advanced Aqua-Nu ceramic is made with food grade diatomaceous earth (DE), found in waters all over the World. The highly porous surface area in the biogenic DE material acts to attract, bind and adsorb impurities.

The StayPure capsule is an innovative water preservation, prevention and protection technology, created for use with potable/tap water only. It is designed to improve the taste and odour of your water, whilst keeping it purer, fresher and safer for long periods of time. This is achieved by promoting and maintaining freshness and balancing pH/alkalinity while mineralizing the water. In addition, StayPure absorbs and adsorbs trace contaminants at the same time oxidises the water preventing the formation of bacteria.

Food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE), commonly called a diatomite, is a naturally occurring sedimentary rock of biogenic origin, incorporating minerals that formed millions of years ago. Owing to its structure, it is one of the most porous substances found in nature.

A capsule is a little smaller than the average adult thumb. The dimensions are 23mm diameter by 50mm long, small enough to drop into a wide range of water vessels.

A StayPure capsule remains effective for up to six months depending on the quality of your water and can treat up to 1,000 litres. This is equivalent to 2,000 500ml bottle refills. Therefore, one small StayPure capsule can potentially prevent 2,000 plastic water bottles from entering the environment.

A StayPure capsule will effectively work in drinking water containers up to 3 litres in capacity. It is equally functional at water volumes less than 3 litres, bestowing various enhancements based on the demand from the water in which it is placed. For containers of water greater than 3 litres volume, more than one capsule is required to meet the demands of the greater volume of water.

StayPure is designed for enhancing potable/tap water in all small volume drinking vessels, such as portable water bottles, water jugs/pitchers, hydration packs, water coolers, coffee machines, RV and boat water reservoirs or just about any water vessel up to a capacity of 3 litres.

Many people don’t know this, but there is more or less the same amount of freshwater on Earth as there always has been.

Freshwater makes up a very small fraction of all water on the planet. While nearly 70 percent of the world is covered by water, only 3 percent of it is fresh. The rest is saline and ocean-based. Even then, just 1 percent of our freshwater is easily accessible, the other 2 percent is trapped in the polar caps and glaciers.  The water you drink today has likely been around in one form or another for millions of years.

While the amount of freshwater on the planet has remained fairly constant over time, it must be continually recycled through the atmosphere and our municipals infrastructure and back into our taps. Human population on Earth is gradually increasing, recently being estimated at 7.6 billion. This means that every year, demand for a clean, copious supply of fresh, safe drinking water to sustain life intensifies. Not all tap water is the same, with quality and taste varying.

Yes, StayPure preserves and protects water while it is being stored.  This is achieved by the combined technologies of StayPure; it continuously reacts and interacts with the water.  It adsorbs and absorbs impurities whilst also releasing valuable trace minerals in accordance with the demands of the water. It also functions to achieve and preserve a natural balance of trace minerals and pH in the water. Furthermore, StayPure functions as an oxidation catalyst that serves to oxidise the water, preserving and protecting it from contamination.

For optimal performance the StayPure capsule should be rinsed periodically to remove any accumulated impurities. If necessary, the capsule can be cleaned gently under running water with a soft bristle toothbrush. The StayPure capsule is a non-hazardous product and can be disposed of in accordance with the local waste disposal requirements.

Clean your bottle or water container thoroughly before filling with water and using a StayPure capsule for the first time.

When using a capsule for the first time, rinse the capsule itself under the cold tap before placing it in the water container. When placing the capsule into the container, allow it to sink to the bottom. Occasionally shaking the container improves the performance of StayPure capsule.

The capsule should remain immersed in water for optimal performance. Your bottle or container can be topped up with fresh drinking water regularly without any need to empty the water already there.

Oxidation means to oxidise, which is the process of a substance combining chemically with oxygen. When oxygen reacts with the chemicals in the exposed surface of a substance, it breaks it down through an oxidation process.

A catalyst is a substance that initiates or speeds up a chemical reaction (in this case oxidation) but is not consumed in that reaction, nor does it undergo any chemical change itself. Without the presence of a catalyst the chemical reaction will be so slow it is unobservable, or the reaction will not speed up.

Catalytic oxidation is a process that oxidises compounds using a catalyst. The compounds that are oxidised break down during the oxidation process wherein the compounds lose electrons. The overall oxidation reaction process is increased by the presence of the catalyst, which is not consumed in the chemical reaction. This process in water is particularly effective in degrading and removing organics that can include total organic carbons (TOC’s), bacteria, viruses, parasites etc.

The Aqua-Nu porous ceramic, which incorporates minute traces of silver, is housed in an open slotted polypropylene plastic capsule. The silver performs like an oxidation catalyst. At the catalyst surface, silver electrons are transferred to form reactive oxygen species (ROS)
with residual disinfectants (e.g. chlorine) or dissolved oxygen normally present in water. ROS such as superoxide and alpha-oxygen are the most effective oxidants to oxidise organic matter including microorganisms, bacteria, parasites, viruses and the food that this microbiology needs to thrive. As a result, any kind of organic matter is oxidised and converted into CO 2 (this process is known as cold burning) which duly exhausts from the water over time.

Interesting fact: superoxide dismutase (SOD) is produced in your body as an antioxidant, formed to combat all ROS inclusive of superoxide and alpha-oxygen. SOD is vital to fight against diseases and defend against aging. SOD searches out ROS/free radicals, oxidising and degrading them whilst flushing them out of the body.

The catalytic oxidative capability of StayPure also has a "cold burn" effect on all other organics within the body of water. These organics act as a food source for microorganisms including bacteria.  If this organic food source is converted into CO 2 , then it is not available to the microorganism/bacteria to sustain their existence, therefore they cannot survive in the water.
